The Government's Electric Car Grant (ECG) is barely a month old and already ministers have introduced a new stipulation to restrict the number of vehicles qualifying for discounts.
The DfT has confirmed another six cars eligible for the taxpayer-funded scheme, with a pair of Ford models the first to meet the Government's strict criteria to be awarded the £3,750 saving.
Dealers have lashed out at the scheme, saying buyers have been delaying purchases to understand which models might get the full £3,750 discounts.
