The collision caused by Julie Ijere, 59, left patient Anthony Dawbarn, 93, and the driver of a car she struck, solicitor's firm employee Jane Blampied, 70, seriously injured. Both died in hospital.
Paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service had to be rescued from Camber Sands beach in East Sussex on New Year's Day when their ambulance got stuck with a patient inside.
Ambulance, police and firefighters were swiftly called but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Initial investigations suggest drowning was the cause of death.
