The man, aged in his 30s, has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following the 'brutal' assault which left the alleged victim with significant injuries to his face, neck and back.
Mohsin Hussain, a district councillor for Keighley Central in Bradford, was handed a 12-month sentence, suspended for two years, for his involvement in an armed street attack in 2014.
On Thursday morning, the 63-year-old left the prison for the first time in four years to be driven the short distance to Tallahassee Federal Courthouse.
