Shocked but not surprised. That was the resigned reaction of Britain's Jewish community to the appalling terrorist attack at the Manchester synagogue. It's a sentiment I share.

As horrifying as this incident may be, I doubt that any of Britain's 287,000 Jews will be surprised that such an event has come to pass.
