France's digital minister said she filed a complaint against Kick for "dissemination of content constituting criminal offenses."
The probe, announced on Tuesday, will examine whether Kick 'knowingly' broadcast 'videos of deliberate attacks on personal integrity' after the death of Raphael Graven.
The French government also says it is suing the platform over the death of Raphaël Graven, also known as Jean Pormanove.
Set on an industrial estate, nestled between a builder's merchant and courier firm, the studio was where Pormanove - real name Raphael Graven - spent most of his life including his final hours.
