Nearly 15,000 public sector workers enjoyed paid leave last year to moonlight as trade unionists and help plot strikes at taxpayers' expense - including 3,000 workers from the strike-hit NHS ⊕

Around £90million of taxpayers' cash was spent by councils, schools, Whitehall departments and the health service last year to cover the cost of staff engaging in trade union work.
